Notes On Any Other Crop Issues

Logistics and Support Equipment

Water Sources
  • The DewPoint machine holds about 1000 gallons of supply water plus about 300 gallons of water is held in the boiler.
  • On Average you will need to refill the DewPoint water supply tanks with 1000 gallons of water every 4 hours.
  • You will need clean culinary water to supply the boiler on the DewPoint 6110 with water
  • You will need to send a water sample from each of your potential water sources to our water treatment associate for testing.  We will supply you with a Sample Bottle upon request which is pre-labeled for shipping to "Manufacturers Chemical"
  • After the Quality of your water is tested we will determine what treatment is needed to assure the health of your boiler for many years.  In extreme cases of water hardness, water pre-conditioning may be necessary by Softening or Reverse Osmosis.  We will help you get this all worked out.
  • You should consider the location of your water sources relative to the fields you bale to determine whether you will need Stationary Storage Tanks or a Mobile Water Truck or Trailer.
  • We recommend a water storage tank at your water sources which will hold at least 1300 gallons of water for each DewPoint Machine you are running, so you can allow the tank to fill while you are baling.  You can then transfer water quickly into your DewPoint Machines when it is time to refill.  Black plastic tanks are best since they reduce the growth of algea during dormant periods.
  • If you need to transport water, to where you are baling a Water Truck or Trailer mounted water tank is a good choice.
  • A good 2" transfer pump with suction and discharge hoses is needed to pump water from a water storage or transport tank into the DewPoint 6110.  It usually takes about 5 minutes to refill the machine.

PLEASE INDICATE WHAT YOUR CURRENT WATER HANDLING and WATER SOURCE CAPABILITIES ARE IN THE BOX BELOW:

Fuel Supply
  • The DewPoint 6110 Holds about 300 gallons of #2 Diesel Fuel to fire the Boiler Burner and to supply the onboard generator.
  • The machine will operate for an average of 12 hours on a full load of fuel.
  • Unless you are running more than one shift per day you can just fill with fuel at the beginning of each day.
  • If you do plan to do shift work you may need to consider transporting fuel to your tractor and DewPoint machine wherever you are baling each day.
